Evansville Memorial is 7-1 against Vincennes Lincoln since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will challenge the Alices at 6:00 p.m. Evansville Memorial will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Evansville Memorial proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Evansville Reitz 1-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Tigers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Vincennes Lincoln fell victim to Princeton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Alices have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Paxton Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Evansville Memorial pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Vincennes Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Evansville Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against Vincennes Lincoln in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
