For the first time this season, Cambridge Rindge & Latin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Newton South Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin came into their game last Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Burlington 36-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Newton South was able to grind out a solid victory over Boston Latin on Friday, taking the game 13-6. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won eight in a row.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Newton South, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.
