Baseball Game Preview: Hasbrouck Heights Aviators vs. Becton Wildcats

The Hasbrouck Heights Aviators will square off against the Becton Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hasbrouck Heights has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Hasbrouck Heights' offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (17-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hasbrouck Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damon Rivera, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Rivera is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Becton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Leonia 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since May 11, 2024.

Becton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hasbrouck Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Hasbrouck Heights skirted past Becton 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Aviators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
