Preview: College Prep of America Thunder vs. Aqsa Legends
College Prep of America is 2-8 against Aqsa since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The College Prep of America Thunder will be playing at home against the Aqsa Legends at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully College Prep of America focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, College Prep of America ended up a good deal behind Hinsdale Adventist Academy and lost 38-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for College Prep of America in their matchups with Hinsdale Adventist Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, College Prep of America had strong showings from Zainab Nazeer, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Kanzah Munir, who scored four points along with three steals. Nazeer is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Even though Aqsa has not done well against Universal recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went Aqsa's way against Universal as Aqsa made off with a 47-26 victory.
Aqsa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noor Saleh, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Saleh has scored at least a third of Aqsa's points. Another player making a difference was Gisele Arouri, who scored 14 points.
College Prep of America's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Aqsa, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
