Softball Game Preview: Flintridge Prep Wolves vs. Polytechnic Panthers

Flintridge Prep is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will square off against the Polytechnic Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Flintridge Prep came up short against Viewpoint and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic lost 18-8 to Arleta on Friday.

Eila Chan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Lorelai Thorell also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Polytechnic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Flintridge Prep now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Flintridge Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Flintridge Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
