Basketball Recap: Spooner Comes Up Short

Spooner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Somerset Spartans 89-46. That's two games in a row now that the Rails have lost by exactly 43 points.

Spooner's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Somerset, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Spooner won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Unity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rails will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.54 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Somerset, they will face off against St. Croix Central on Thursday.
