Basketball Game Preview: La Crosse Logan Rangers vs. Sparta Spartans

The La Crosse Logan Rangers will face off against the Sparta Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for La Crosse Logan and three for Sparta.

Last Friday, La Crosse Logan lost to Onalaska at home by a 49-30 margin. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 184th).

Meanwhile, Sparta suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 75-33 defeat at the hands of Aquinas. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.

La Crosse Logan will need focus on slowing down Tiana Leis, one of several Sparta players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kaylie Church also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

La Crosse Logan's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Sparta, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
