Football Recap: Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] Takes a Loss

Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Alma Cardinals and fell 64-34. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.

Despite the loss, Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Schimmels rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Schimmels really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

Alma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zavier Mitchell, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for nine yards and one TD. Those 100 receiving yards gave Mitchell a new career-high. Tucker Biskup was another key player, gaining 57 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Alma, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alma, they will take on Plainview at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
