Softball Recap: Little Chute Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Little Chute ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Waupaca Comets 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hayden Burton spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.

At the plate, Danica Pfrang was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jenna Whalley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Little Chute's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Waupaca, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Little Chute is set to take on their familiar foe Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Waupaca will face off against rival Marinette at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
