Baseball Recap: Pleasant Plains Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Pleasant Plains had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Harrisburg on Thursday. Pleasant Plains blew past Harrisburg 8-2. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Pleasant Plains got a great performance from Cale Hatcher as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Zach Ponce was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Andrew Potthoff also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Pleasant Plains was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrisburg only posted a batting average of .231.

The win keeps Pleasant Plains at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average this season. As for Harrisburg, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
