Basketball Recap: Lordstown Takes a Loss

Lordstown lost against McDonald back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lordstown Red Devils took a blow against the McDonald Blue Devils, falling 77-40. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonald to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Zajack, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Zajack is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Cappuzzello, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Lordstown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for McDonald, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Lordstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-34 loss against Chalker on the 31st. As for McDonald, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-44 victory against Western Reserve on the 31st.
