Softball Game Preview: Viewpoint Patriots vs. Archer School for Girls Panthers

Viewpoint has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Archer School for Girls has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Patriots will welcome the Panthers at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Viewpoint made easy work of Harvard-Westlake and carried off an 8-2 victory.

Emjay Peck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Carly Nelson was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Anniston Aragon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Viewpoint was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Archer School for Girls got the win against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 14-2.

Archer School for Girls' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Viewpoint, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Viewpoint took their win against Archer School for Girls in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
