Softball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown and Mason squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Middletown had to settle for second. They came up short against the Comets, falling 17-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Middies couldn't push the score so high this time.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Mason, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Middletown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mason, they will challenge Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
