It was a good run, but East Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tarpon Springs Spongers. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adanya Canezo and Sienna Zaccardo.

East Lake's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Tarpon Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

East Lake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against St. Petersburg on the 8th. As for Tarpon Springs, they have also already played their next match, a 25-19 victory against Clearwater on the 3rd.
