Softball Recap: Marquette Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Marquette had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Clinton River Kings with a sharp 13-3 victory. This was payback for the Defenders, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Marquette picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Clinton, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their 27th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marquette beat the River Kings by a score of 8-3 later that day.
