Basketball Game Preview: Stearns Minutemen vs. Bangor Christian Patriots

Stearns hasn't had much luck against Bangor Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stearns Minutemen will welcome the Bangor Christian Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Stearns lost 79-56 to Katahdin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Cougars are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Bangor Christian beat Jonesport-Beals 55-48 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

This is the second loss in a row for Stearns and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Bangor Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Things could have been worse for Stearns, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-47 loss to Bangor Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
