Softball Recap: Valley Regional Triumphs

Valley Regional hadn't done well against Cromwell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 5-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Paige Williams's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carley Spearrin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Helen Manco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Valley Regional's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Cromwell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Valley Regional wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-0 win against Morgan on the 15th. As for Cromwell, they have also already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Bolton on the 15th.
