Whitman and Churchill squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Whitman had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

While Whitman had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18.

Whitman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Churchill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
