Baseball Game Preview: William Penn Bearcats vs. Spring Grove Rockets

William Penn hasn't had much luck against Spring Grove recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. William Penn is taking a road trip to face off against Spring Grove at 4:15 p.m. Neither William Penn nor Spring Grove posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

William Penn fell victim to Red Lion and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by exactly ten runs.

Spring Grove hadn't beaten South Western on the road since April 12, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. Spring Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against South Western, sneaking past 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Spring Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abrum Dull, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Dull snagged this season.

This is the second loss in a row for William Penn and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Spring Grove, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

William Penn suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to Spring Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can William Penn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
