Basketball Recap: Brookstone Takes a Loss

Brookstone was the 49-29 winner over Mount de Sales Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers on Monday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Brookstone lost, don't look at Julie Anne Pyle. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points.

Mount de Sales Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Latimer led the charge by putting up 19 points and six rebounds. Those 19 points gave Latimer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Jordan, who scored ten points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Brookstone now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Brookstone has already played their next contest, a 75-18 loss against Stratford Academy on the 25th. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-36 defeat against George Walton Academy on the 25th.
