Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with School Without Walls

On Monday, Roosevelt faced School Without Walls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Roosevelt Roughriders had to suffer through a 44-11 loss at the hands of the School Without Walls Penguins. That's two games in a row now that the Roughriders have lost by exactly 33 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School Without Walls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadia Kallmer, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and five steals. Kallmer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Olesh, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and three blocks.

Roosevelt is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. As for School Without Walls, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Roosevelt has already played their next matchup, a 66-30 defeat against Eleanor Roosevelt on the 14th. As for School Without Walls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-16 loss against Banneker on the 15th.
