Football Game Preview: North Broward Prep Eagles vs. Calvary Christian Academy Eagles

North Broward Prep is 1-7 against Calvary Christian Academy since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. North Broward Prep will be playing at home against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. This will be North Broward Prep's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

North Broward Prep proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 50) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-24 victory over St. John Paul II Academy.

North Broward Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ralph Diaz, who threw for 152 yards and one TD while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards on only seven carries. Kenneth Hall was in the mix too, providing North Broward Prep with two scores.

Another reason for the win was North Broward Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Thor Hwasta and Ethan Phillips, who racked up six sacks between them. Thanks to that big game, Hwasta is now up to 8 sacks on the season. North Broward Prep got some further help from Noah Finkelstein: he made 15 total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 14-6.

North Broward Prep now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

North Broward Prep took a serious blow against Calvary Christian Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 48-13. Thankfully for North Broward Prep, Yohan-Li Louis (who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
