Volleyball Game Preview: Reno Huskies vs. Escalon Cougars

The Reno Huskies will be taking part in a tournament against the Escalon Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Reno came up short against Bishop Manogue and fell 3-1. The loss put an end to the Huskies' undefeated start to the season.

While Reno ultimately came up short, they really made Bishop Manogue work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 17-25, 25-12, 29-27.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Escalon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Merced on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2.

Escalon wouldn't go down easily and took Merced into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 11-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-12.

The victory got Escalon back to even at 1-1. As for Reno, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
