Basketball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Platteville Hillmen, falling 81-61. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Hillmen are ranked 76th).

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Platteville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood will face off against Reedsburg at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Platteville, they will challenge Mount Horeb at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Horeb is on a six-game streak of home wins, Platteville a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
