Recap: Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls vs. Neuse Christian Academy Lions
The Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls were the 62-58 winner over the Neuse Christian Academy Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cristo Rey Research Triangle opened the new year with a less-than-successful 39-35 loss to they on Friday. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Cristo Rey Research Triangle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamaal Miller. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Miller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zion Dix, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Carter Brown was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points for Neuse Christian Academy. Josh Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Neuse Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey Research Triangle will take on Liberty Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Thomas More Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
