Volleyball Recap: Thornton Fractional South Comes Up Short

Thornton Fractional South lost against Rich Township last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Wolves might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-0 to the Raptors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Thornton Fractional South may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Thornton Fractional South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Romina Calderon had seven digs and two aces.

Thornton Fractional South's record now sits at 14-14. As for Rich Township, they pushed their record up to 19-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Thornton Fractional South will challenge Richards at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rich Township, after both having extra time off, they and Thornwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
