Basketball Game Preview: Raft River Trojans vs. Hagerman Pirates

Raft River and Hagerman are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Raft River Trojans will head out to challenge the Hagerman Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Raft River has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three contests.

On Saturday, Raft River strolled past Aberdeen with points to spare, taking the game 65-46. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Tigers are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hagerman ended up a good deal behind Murtaugh on Thursday and lost 53-34. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Raft River's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Hagerman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Raft River against Hagerman in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Raft River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
