Baseball Recap: Bemidji Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Bemidji won the last time they faced Duluth East and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lumberjacks walked away with a 6-3 win over the Greyhounds. The game was the first time the Lumberjacks have beaten the Greyhounds on their field since May 2, 2023.

Kobe Brown was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stonewall Gessner, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Bemidji pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Duluth East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Bemidji will be playing in front of their home fans against East Grand Forks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lumberjacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Duluth East, they will head out on the road to challenge Blaine at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
