Greenhills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Gryphons who were credited with the victory. The Greenhills Gryphons got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Gabriel Richard Irish's three. The win was all the more spectacular given Greenhills' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Gabriel Richard are ranked 25th).

Greenhills' victory bumped their record up to 8-6-3. As for Gabriel Richard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-4-3.
