Recap: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Papillion-LaVista South Titans
The Elkhorn South Storm managed to keep up with the Papillion-LaVista South Titans until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Elkhorn South ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-32 walloping at the hands of Papillion-LaVista South. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elkhorn South in their matchups with Papillion-LaVista South: they've now lost four in a row.
Elkhorn South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mollie Probasco, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Addy Penke, who scored five points along with five steals.
Elkhorn South struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Papillion-LaVista South found their leader in underclassman Addison Medeck, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Morehouse, who scored nine points.
Elkhorn South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Papillion-LaVista South, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will be home for the holidays to greet Omaha Northwest at 8:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Omaha Northwest is ranked 173rd, while Elkhorn South is ranked 154th). Papillion-LaVista South will be home for the holidays to greet Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
