Softball Recap: Brunswick Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mt. Ararat

Brunswick's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Mt. Ararat Eagles 10-1. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Caitlin Seitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Julianna Morin was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Skyler Augustine, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brunswick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Brunswick's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Mt. Ararat, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Brunswick and Mt. Ararat will both be playing Messalonskee the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Dragons will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
