Land O' Lakes proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Cypress Creek Coyotes. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Miyah Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaila Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Coming up, Land O' Lakes will head out on the road to square off against Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cypress Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Coyotes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stingrays have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
