Baseball Recap: Terry Takes a Loss

If Terry was feeling good fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Yazoo County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 11-8 to the Pearl Pirates on Friday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Brady Busby put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Busby was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Nichols stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Cory Meaders, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Terry's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Pearl, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Terry will venture away from home to challenge Provine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pearl, they have already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against Brookhaven on the 14th.
