Softball Recap: Lakeview Takes a Loss

Lakeview had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-8 to make it four. They lost 14-4 to the L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for L'Anse Creuse North, their record is now 12-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the match before.

For L'Anse Creuse North's part, Linsay Beyer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Beyer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ashlee Lane was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lily Smeltzer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview will venture away from home to challenge Grosse Pointe North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for L'Anse Creuse North, they will head out to face off against Romeo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
