Basketball Recap: Tornillo Comes Up Short

Tornillo lost to Alpine back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Coyotes took a blow against the Bucks, falling 56-19. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Deina Vasquez was Tornillo's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Tornillo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Alpine, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-17.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tornillo will challenge rival Kermit at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Alpine is set to square off against their familiar foe Presidio at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
