Football Recap: Northridge Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Northridge after they claimed the first score on Wednesday, but it was Roy who ended up claiming the real prize. The Northridge Knights took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roy Royals. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Tre Nye threw for 273 yards on 18 of 30 attempts. Chase Harris was his top target, picking up 99 receiving yards. On the ground, Andrew Ortiz rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

It was another big night for Robert Young, who rushed for 157 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown for Roy. That's the most rushing yards Young has posted since back in August.

Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Roy, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
