Volleyball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short at Home Against Incarnate Word

Warren unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Incarnate Word Shamrocks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Shamrocks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Warren took Incarnate Word into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 15-5.

Leah Erb paced Warren's offense, picking up 15 kills. Erb got some help from Hailey Tobias and her three assists. Finally, Lila Vasquez kept Warren's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Warren didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Veterans Memorial on the 15th. As for Incarnate Word, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Davenport on the 15th.
