Indiana high school football rankings: Cathedral takes over at No. 1

Cathedral takes over at No. 1 after knocking off St. Xavier by 3.

There was a change at the top of the rankings in the Hoosier State this week as previous No. 3 Cathedral (Indianapolis) takes over at No. 1, while previous No. 1 Brownsburg drops to No. 3.

The new No. 1, Cathedral escaped with a 25-22 out-of-state win over St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio) last week; while No. 3 Brownsburg fell two spots despite a dominant 42-6 victory over Fishers.

Center Grove (Greenwood) remains at No. 2 after an impressive 47-0 route of No. 5 North Central (Indianapolis). The Trojans were dominant behind an impressive rushing attack that accounted for 355 yards, headlined by senior back Carson Steele who had 21 carries for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

No. 21 Elkhart and No. 23 Pike (Indianapolis) each jumped into this week's rankings. Elkhart remained unbeaten with a 20-19 victory over Penn (Mishawaka), while Pike moves to 3-2 after a 41-0 route of Lawrence Central (Indianapolis).
