Football Game Preview: Watson Chapel Wildcats vs. Searcy Lions

The Watson Chapel Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Searcy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Watson Chapel has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Searcy will arrive with four straight wins.

Watson Chapel's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Robinson on Friday. They were dealt a 58-0 loss at the hands of the Senators. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Senators are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Searcy). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-7 victory over White Hall. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Lions just coasted through the last quarter.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Searcy's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Jayden Simmons with two. Deandre Shockley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Searcy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Watson Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Watson Chapel was dealt a bruising 55-14 loss at the hands of Searcy when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
