Football Recap: Riverside Academy Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside Academy). They blew past the Vermilion Catholic Eagles 42-19 on Friday. With the Rebels ahead 28-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Riverside Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games. As for Vermilion Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside Academy will venture away from home to take on St. Martin's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Rebels their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Vermilion Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ascension Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
