Last Thursday, Frewsburg didn't have too much trouble with Portville as they won 57-41. That looming 57-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Frewsburg had a senior duo take command as Blake Weaver posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals and Kael Collver dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Collver is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Lewis, who had nine points and five assists.
Frewsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fredonia can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game last Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over Dunkirk. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hillbillies have posted since December 9, 2024.
Fredonia's win came from a few key players Frewsburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ashton Putney, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Dowdy, who went 5 for 7 en route to 15 points and five boards.
Fredonia's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Frewsburg, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Frewsburg has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fredonia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Frewsburg lost to Fredonia on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Frewsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
