Soccer Game Preview: York Suburban vs. Dover

The York Suburban Trojans will take on the Dover Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (York Suburban has three straight victories, Dover has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

York Suburban's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past West York Area 3-0. Considering York Suburban have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Dover's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Susquehannock. While losing is never fun, Dover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Susquehannock are ranked 18th).

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for York Suburban, their win bumped their record up to 10-5-2.

York Suburban was able to grind out a solid victory over Dover when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
