Baseball Recap: Northfield Comes Up Short

Northfield lost against Columbia City on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Norsemen came up short against the Eagles, falling 19-3. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Columbia City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Northfield will be playing at home against Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Columbia City, they will take on DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Barons will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
