Football Recap: Oxford Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Oxford kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Bacon Academy/Lyman Memorial by a score of 16-13. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Even if they lost, Oxford's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Jorge Ochoa with three.

Looking ahead, Oxford will be playing at home against St. Paul Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wolverines' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Bacon Academy/Lyman Memorial, they will head out to face off against Amistad at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
