McNairy Central came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Creek Wood Red Hawks. The Bobcats were shut out 1-0 the last time they took on the Red Hawks, so the Bobcats were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Bailee Shelton, who gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Creek Wood off the board. Shelton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McNairy Central's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paige Mercer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Mercer has posted since back in April.

McNairy Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive matchups.

McNairy Central's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Creek Wood, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-13.

Looking ahead, McNairy Central will be playing at home against Station Camp at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Creek Wood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
