It's playoff time, and Frontenac had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Girard Trojans 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Frontenac had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Frontenac found their leader in sophomore Laynee Shay, who had 15 digs.

Frontenac's win bumped their record up to 25-14-1. As for Girard, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-12.

Frontenac does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Girard, they will challenge Osawatomie at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Osawatomie has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
