Baseball Game Preview: Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish vs. Webb Spartans

For the second straight game, Knoxville Catholic will face off against Webb. The Fighting Irish will host the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Knoxville Catholic has three straight victories, Webb has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Knoxville Catholic beat Webb 6-3.

Tyler Slatas looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alex Ditmore was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Knoxville Catholic is undefeated when Ditmore posts two or more runs, but 10-12-1 otherwise. Cooper Williamson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Knoxville Catholic's win bumped their record up to 18-12-1. As for Webb, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
