Basketball Recap: Valwood Comes Up Short

Valwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Echols County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Valiants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-26 back in November of 2024.

Echols County had a senior duo take command as Sydni Goss dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds and Lexie Bone posted 14 points and eight boards.

Valwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Echols County, they pushed their record up to 8-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Valwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Echols County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 43-28 defeat against Clinch County on the 7th.
