Volleyball Recap: Sarcoxie Comes Up Short

If Sarcoxie was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cassville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears lost 3-0 to the New Covenant Academy Warriors on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

While Sarcoxie was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into New Covenant Academy's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-14, 25-15.

Alexis Letts paced Sarcoxie's offense, picking up five kills. Letts got some help from Jordyn Misner and her four assists. Finally, Letts was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Sarcoxie now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for New Covenant Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Sarcoxie has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Monett on the 9th. As for New Covenant Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Galena on the 9th.
