Baseball Recap: Shirley Takes a Loss

Shirley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Calico Rock Pirates, falling 11-1. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Shirley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Calico Rock, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calico Rock beat Shirley by a score of 12-2 later that day.
